Voip Solutions

  Voip For Home
Its an undisputable fact that VoIP saves you monies on phone bills. Even more so in Australia as the geographical spread is vast and the national calls are generally quite dear.

Savings on calls

The amount you save depends on the number and length of International, national and local calls. As a guide, many people can save around 50-70% on their bills.

Please note that you dont only save on calls, you`ll save on phone rental as well. If you are no longer using your normal landline for calls , see if you can change to a plan that is low on rental even if the call rates are higher. If you are not using it to call then high rates won't affect you.

Savings on line rental

Also if you are currently using multiple phone lines at the moment, see if you can reduce the number of lines. If you are using VoIP for most of your calls, your normal phone line remains available.

Number porting

Should I get rid of all my normal phone lines.

In general, we don't recommend getting rid of all your phone line for safety and continuality reasons.

It's still the safest option to use normal landline for emergency call. Normal landline generally doesn't rely on household power and not restricted to limited talk time (battery power) of a mobile phone. Also if for whatever reason if the caller is unable to provide accurate physical address, the emergency help desk has higher chance to locate you if you were using a normal landline.

It may seem trivial but if you've been using the same phone number for a long period of time, it's difficult to notify all the people who may have a need to contact you.

Some VoIP provider may be able to port-in your landline number but just take note that porting it back out when you change provider may be difficult.

Our advise is that if you don't want to lose the number, keep it with your current carrier
.

  Voip For Business
To set the context right, when we talk about business VoIP here we mean small and medium size enterprises (SME). Most big corporations run their VoIP through their own corporate networks and their accounts are generally managed by tier 1 carriers.

SME can embrace the VoIP technology for many added benefits apart from cost savings.

Of course the benefits mentioned in the residential VoIP are also applicable to SME.

SME can also take advantage on the additional features that'll be discussed later
.

  PABX (Phone System)
If it`s a new installation then soft PABX is a very good idea.

Generally soft PABX provides rich features, cheap to install, maintain and operate. Also it can easily be integrated with your desktops.

However, if you are already running a PABX and it's working well for you. We suggest you keep using it. There's many benefit in keeping your existing PABX - including but not limited to , minimal changeover disruption, no additional staff training, get better return on your investment with existing equipment. It's very simple to convert your existing PABX to VoIP by adding a suitable gateway.

On site or hosted solution

If you are thinking of installing a soft PABX, then the second consideration is whether to install the PABX on-site or subscribe to hosted solutions.

If possible, you should consider installing the soft PABX on site.

The reliability of Internet is still far lower than a normal landline. In the worst case scenario , no power, no Internet, server failure , you can still maintain your communications by the normal landline.

Your customers may not treat you kindly if they can't contact you for an extended period of time.

  Mobile Office And Voip
You may not have considered combining your VoIP and mobiles for greater cost savings.

If you,ve a few staff often on the read then you should consider a shared business mobile plan with mobile data
.

GSM Gateway and Internet

Generally, business shared plan will allow multiple SIM cards, calls between mobiles are free. With mobile data, you'll have email, Internet and VoIP while you are on the road. You can also install a GSM gateway in the office so that all calls between office and staff are free. You can also use an additional SIM card to connect your office modem/router to the Internet under the same shared plan.

There's significant savings if you don't need to pay for the office Internet, landline rental and use VoIP on your mobiles.

The added benefits include mobile Internet and email so that you can respond to customers quickly and effectively to increase sales
.

  Multi-Site Working As 1
Many SME have partners or staff working in different locations. With VoIP, you can always call from one location to the other free to save cost.

Auto-Attendant

With Auto-Attendant, you can also answer incoming calls from different locations as if you were working in the same office.

The incoming call can go to different locations sequentially or all together at the same time so whoever free can answer the call.

You can also change the answering pattern real-time by changing it on the web. For example if a staff called in sick then you can immediately take that answering point out of the loop.

  Combining Voip And Mobile
Many mobile handsets now support VoIP. Even if your mobile handset doesn't support VoIP directly, many will let you use it as a modem to your netbook so that you can use a soft-phone on your computer.

The following handsets (and many others) can also function as modem...
  • Blackberry Storm 9500
  • Vodafone 830i
  • Nokia 5300
  • Nokia 5610
  • Nokia 6124
  • Nokia 6210
  • Nokia E51
  • Nokia N78
  • Nokia N81
  • Nokia N95 8GB
  • Nokia N96
  • Samsung J700
  • Samsung L760
  • Samsung L770
  • Samsung U700
  •
  • Samsung U900
We'll show you how to get mobile and save by combining your mobile accounts, VoIP and mobile data

  Save Costs on 1300 Numbers
Generally, the first 20 minutes of the 1300 is free if called locally (local to the caller).

However, say if your office is in Victoria you won't be able to get free minutes for calls in NSW. By adding a Metro No (DID) in NSW, suddenly, all your NSW 1300 calls will enjoy the first 20 minutes free. This can be significant savings for you.

  Business Grade Inetrnet and Voip
If Internet is important to you business, we recommend business grade connection.

Yes, it's a bit more expansive but with appropriate service level agreement, you can be assured of minimum downtime.
